Through our work within the community and with the Bexley Council Park Rangers, Lark in the Park was nominated for the
"Environmental Challenge Award 2008".
On the 27th November 2008 the winners were revealed and presented with awards and prize money.
Lark in the Park has won the Recycling Category and came in third place in the overall winners.
It has been a privilege for Lark in the Park to take place in this competition and to receive awards on behalf of many people who work year after year with the local Rangers and on other projects.
It has been a very special evening for the Lark in the Park team and we were honoured to spend the evening with councillors of the Bexley Council, the Mayor and the Mayoress as well as other institutions and schools from the community.
The aims of the Competition were:
To reward and promote the work that schools, youth groups and community groups are doing in Bexley to
improve the local environment. By promoting the work of others it is hoped to encourage more people (particularly the young) to learn more
about their local environment and take action to care and improve it.
These were the different categories available to be nominated in:
Recycling
Public involvement in recycling schemes
Nature Conservation
Creation or management of a wildlife area
